What we collect

• Your mobile number and name, from checkout.
• The texts you send us and our replies, with timestamps.
• Locations you save or text us (coordinates), used to fetch forecasts.
• Payment details are handled by Stripe; we don't see or store card numbers.

How we use it

To answer your texts, run your pass, fix problems and improve the service. Coordinates are sent to the National Weather Service to get forecasts. The text of Q questions, with your default location and a forecast summary, is sent to our AI model provider to generate an answer.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share data only with the service providers that run Backwoods AI (SMS delivery, hosting, database, payments, AI model provider), and only to provide the service, or when the law requires it.

Retention and your choices

We keep account and message records while your account is active and for a reasonable period after, for billing and support. Reply STOP to stop texts. Email help@backwoods.example.com to request a copy or deletion of your data.
